Palm Beach, FL – May 30, 2024 – Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous grant from the Town of Palm Beach United Way. This award, totaling $35,000, will significantly bolster the organization's efforts to serve some of the most vulnerable populations in our community.
The grant includes $30,000 allocated to support guardianship services for incapacitated elderly individuals through the Elder Affairs Program. This funding will enable Catholic Charities to continue providing essential guardianship services, ensuring that our elderly clients receive the care, protection, and advocacy they need to live with dignity and respect.
Additionally, $5,000 of the grant is designated for the Bakhita Empowerment Program, which assists victims of human trafficking. This support will enhance the program's ability to provide comprehensive services to survivors, helping them to rebuild their lives and regain their independence.
"We are deeply grateful to the Town of Palm Beach United Way for their continued partnership and generous support," said Ellen T. Wayne, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach.
