Samaritan Center’s 17th Annual Bernard & Betty Egan Memorial Golf Classic
The Samaritan Center’s Advisory Committee hosted the 17th Annual Bernard & Betty Egan Memorial Golf Classic. The golf outing took place Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Grand Harbor Golf Club. Bernard Egan and his wife Betty were some of the founding members of the Samaritan Center who realized the need to help homeless families in Indian River County. Since opening our doors 1992, the Samaritan Center has provided shelter to over 1,994 residents including over 1,100 children.
We are very thankful to all of our sponsors! Especially, our ACE Sponsor, the Bernard A. Egan Foundation, who generously matched all sponsorships dollar to dollar. 28 teams totaling 110 golfers enjoyed a gorgeous day of golfing, lunch and awards at the Grand Harbor Golf Club. Special thanks to our door prize donors, golf course certificate donors and the 26 fabulous dedicated volunteers. The golf outing event raised over $183,000 to support the center’s general operating budget. Private donations along with our fundraising events account for more than 75% of the donations received at the Samaritan Center.
